NGC 2170 doesn't have a
more common name, but
WOW! -- is there ever a whole
lot happening within the 14x21
arcminute confines of this
image! A veritable plethora of
colors, shapes, and textures
are visible as the various
reflection, enmission, and dark
nebulous zones interact with
on another.

NGC 2170 is in Monoceros.

Although blessed by really
dark skies at CTIO in Chile,
we could have used another
18 hours (or more) of data to
help improve the  S/N.
